The protests around 'The Da Vinci Code' just before the release has ensured that the book tightens its already firm hold on the best-seller list even further.
AHMEDABAD: After all, not all controversies are bad. The protests around Dan Brown's 'The Da Vinci Code' just before the release of the Tom Hanks starrer by the same name has ensured that the book tightens its already firm hold on the best-seller list even further. "Though the book has maintained its place in the top-10 best-sellers, the controversy surrounding the film has increased the sales by 15 to 20 per cent,"says Crosswords shop manager Nasir Pathan.
The book store has sold more than 150 copies in last 10 days. Niyati Shah of Om Book Store says the book has become a favourite with all age groups. "Not only have sales increased by around 45 per cent, people are also asking for a Gujarati version. We have already received four orders for translation and are trying to find if it is available,"says the floor manager of the store, Rekha Sangatani.
